This Special Issue of the Journal of Manual and Manipulative Therapy includes a series of manuscripts fitting a comprehensive approach to the utility of manual physical therapy for enhancing chronic pain outcomes. The primary aims of this Special Issue are to advance the understanding of chronic musculoskeletal pain and describe both adjunct interventions as well as elements of the manual physical therapy encounter with the potential to augment the clinical effectiveness.
